Benefits of a Himalayan Salt Lamp

From all the post I see on social media, I have become very intrigued with Salt Lamps. The look of them are so cool and they give a good vibe in your home decor.

I purchased mine from Spencer’s. (that store has some good things in it too, lol!) I completely fell in love with it as soon as I plugged it up! It cast a beautiful glow for when you are just relaxing and don’t want all of the lights on. I have mine sitting right on my desk so that I can be more focused on my work! Plus, whenever we have a guest, I’m sure we will get a lot of questions and compliments on it.

I haven’t owned the lamp that long, so I don’t really see the befits just yet. However, I do know that I can spend a lot longer sitting at my desk doing homework or working o a blog post than normal!

Do you own a salt lamp? Has it improved anything in your life? Let me know!

A Must Read For Military Spouses // The 5 Love Languages Military Edition

A while back, I purchased a book from the holy Grail Barnes & Nobels. I can spend hours in there. But, I was on the hunt for this book because I am a military wife and it can take a toll on a marriage.

It is a pretty fast and easy read. I love the fact that the author Gary Chapman included a short quiz for you to determine your love language. Then he also added tips to go with your or your spouse’s language. (Deployment options are included too!)

I took the quiz, and my result was Words of Affirmation. I feel most confident and loved by being reminded of that. I love that Gary included the idea to write a love letter! I loved when my husband and I wrote letters to each other during his BAsic Training.

To this day, I still have all the letters we wrote each other saved in a  photo album. Actually, I just realized I never even blogged about my husbands Air Force career from the beginning! Maybe I should.

My husband’s love language is Physical Touch. At times, I do find myself walking along side him and I don’t even reach out for his hand. He is always the first to do it. It’s not that I don’t want to, I’m just usually focused on something else.

He also has tips for when you are going through a  Deployment and your spouse’s language is Physical Touch.

  • “Send pictures of yourself to your spouse at various times while apart. Being able to hold a photo of you become very important when holding you in person is impossible.”

I love this idea! I did this again while he was in Basic and Tech School. He loved getting pictures from me. Not of just me but of his family and his pets. Pretty much anything to show you care of you went out of your way to do something is appreciated in a marriage.

This book has a ton of ideas. It really opened my eyes and I learned that we all feel love in different ways. What other books have you read? I would love some recommendations from you! I am such a bookworm lol!

The Illustrated Words of Jesus For Women // Adult Coloring Book

If you know me, you know I can’t live with Hobby Lobby. It’s almost impossible to go without spending anything so, my last trip I picked up a book called The Illustrated Words of Jesus For Women. It is a daily devotional with over 365 different scriptures to color. It takes a little twist on bible journaling, which I still want to try!

Adult coloring books any my newest pass time so when I saw this, I was ecstatic! With each scripture, it has a passage on the side that explains it and puts into your everyday life situations. Space is provided below for you to write whatever you wish about it.

I find this book to be a good stress reliever for me. I like taking to time out and sort of study the scriptures, and the words really touch me for days that I really need advice or a pick me up.

I totally recommend this!

How To Get Free Samples // PinchMe Box Review

Eeeek!!

I’ve been waiting so long to get my PinchMe box in the mail! If you haven’t heard of it, PinchMe is a website that send you free samples in the mail to try out and review. You do a little questionnaire and the company decides if you are a right fit for them to send you samples! It is free shipping as well so it really is just free samples! In return you just have to review the products on their website.

My good friend introduced me to this so I want to thank her! At first, I wasn’t eligible to be sent anything because I didn’t fit the criteria of the products being giving out that month. BUT I got an email the month after and was able to pick some out!

First, I got a $30 Gift Card for my first box (and free shipping) to HelloFresh.com! I wanted to try Hello Fresh for a while. Now that I have a gift card I am going to subscribing soon!

I also got a Shutterfly coupon for a free 8×8 Photo Book! I have so many ideas for it.

As for the products, I was sent Orbit White Sugar Free Peppermint Gum. The package had two pieces, one for me and one for my husband. I am chewing it as we speak and oh my goodness it is so minty! (In a good way) it is soft to bite into and the flavor is lasting a good while. I’m not much of a gum chewer as my husband is but he seems to like it just as much.

Next was the Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub now I haven’t tried it out yet, but I heard good things about this scrub. It smells amazing and I really need something exfoliating for my skin. I have one breakout that just won’t go away. I’m like so over it!

Lastly, I was sent Vick’s ZzzQuil Sleeping Aid. I have to give this a try because sometimes I take forever to fall asleep and I end up waking up super tired and not wanting to get out of bed for work. Hopefully, by taking this I can sleep instantly and feel refreshed when I wake up.

Overall, I am excited to see what next month brings for samples!

Midweek Motivation

It’s Wednesday… which means work for me tomorrow. But, it also means it’s time for some motivation!

I always have doubt. In everything I do. I need to stop and tell myself, if I don’t try then how will I know? I will always beat myself up about things I want to do but am to nervous to do. I can’t be afraid to fail. No one should. At least you tried, right?

All I’m saying is this week, I’m focusing on being a better me. I don’t need January 1st to roll around to make my resolutions. I’m kicking it into gear and I’m going to better myself. For me.

Cinnamon Roll Protein Shake // Recipe

I LOVE my protein shakes in the morning. I don’t just like to drink them plain, I recently started researching and experimenting with adding other ingredients!

Pinterest is my best friend when coming up with new recipes. Not just for my shakes but for meals as well. My favorite one I have been bringing to work is Cinnamon Roll!

Blogger Recognition Award

The Air Force Sweetheart has earned another award!

I’m being totally honest with you all when I say I really feel like I found my place. I don’t really get to express myself, being so shy I only discuss my interest with my mom or husband. With blogging, I feel like I can connect with other people. Which is so great to me.

I was nominated by Sella Tonia from The Moms Life Cycle (she blogs about a lot of different topics, go check her out!)

So what is the Blogger Recognition Award? It is an award from bloggers given to other bloggers. It is to show appreciation for your hard work and dedication to your blog. It is a way to show support! Earning this means so much to me. Thank you again, Sella!

FB_IMG_1503046845580-e1503262516275

So let’s talk about the rules…

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you! Also, provide a link so that others can visit their blog.
  • Share why you started blogging
  • Give some advice to new bloggers
  • Award 15 other bloggers!

Why I Started Blogging

I sort of already talked about my why above but I started blogging because I wanted a place to share my interest. I always loved reading other blogs and watching Youtube videos and I thought maybe I should try it! I had a big feeling I was going to fail. The day I got that one subscriber, I flipped.

My blog is a representation of myself. I write about everything I love (and hate) and I’m just myself. I am 100% happy with my choice in blogging, if I never started I wouldn’t have met so many other people.

Advice For New Bloggers

Don’t focus on being the best. If you write about what you love, others will love it too. I know I say this a lot but just be your self. Honestly. Write as if you were talking to your best friend.

Share your post with friends and family. It may be scary at first. (I know I was so nervous to post my blog because I didn’t want to annoy anyone) but you never know who is interested. Readers can see your passion when you write.

So, by excepting this award I also nominated 15 other bloggers!
