Who Were You This Halloween?

This Halloween I was so set on just giving out candy, and relaxing on the couch. I had the day off which is rare for me to have a day off on a holiday.

But, I got a call from my manager asking me to come in and well… I’m such a good employe I always go lol! I know that we were told we are able to dress up if we want to to celebate the holiday so I had to quickly throw together a costume!

After a couple YouTube videos and Pinterest pins, I came up wih my costume. A deer! I threw on a white long sleeved shirt, light washed skinny jeans, brown boots, and a brown furry scarf.

I didn’t have any antlers to really comeplete the look so I put my hair into two little buns. I think I may even wear my hair like this after halloween. Now it was time for the makeup. Bronzer… lots of bronzer. Basically I just contoured the heck out of my face and highlighted in between it. I really focused on the middle of my forhead and the bridge of my nose with a white based highlighter. You can even use a white eyeshadow too because I used both.

I used an old Claire’s eyeshadow pallete and added water to the white shadow and packed it into my brush. It made the shadow into a sort of cream consistantsy for me to make the sots along the areas I contoured. For my eyes I winged my liner out more than usual and added small ‘lashes’ to my bottom lashline. I used the normal brown/nude tone colors for my lids.

My brows remained the same as I do for every makeup look and my lips I used a nude/brown tone with clear gloss. I was so pumped! I took like a bajillion selfies lol.

A lot of people liked the look adn I did toom I never ever did my own halloween makeup before and this makes me feel so accomplished. I have learned alot about  beauty from blogging and this is coming from a girl who used to never wear makeup about two years ago!

So, who were you for Halloween? Please share!

Current Go-to Makeup Look (What’s In My Makeup Bag)

It’s been a long while since I sat down and wrote a blog post. Life has been crazy, too crazy to handle but, I’m back! Lately I have been reaching for a few specific products every morning. I like to add all of those products to cut down time on the morning (so I can enjoy my coffee) to a makeup bag and sit it on my bathroom countertop! This bag is from my mom-in-law! It’s so cute!

HardCandy Sheer Envy Dark Spot Correcting Primer

I am loving this primer right now because it’s makes my face feels so soft. As far as the dark spot correcting I do see a little bit that my concealer sort of sticks to my face a bit better. I have this ONE acne scar on my cheek that I can’t get rid of! Ugh!

Maybelline TheFalsies Push-up Angel Mascara

This mascara is really popular right now. I’ve seen a lot of other bloggers talk about it and for good reasons! It makes my lashes look so long a full, it’s my go-to and I’ll repurchase it over and over.

Chapstick in Cake Batter

I’m really simple. So I usually just put on a sweet chapstick and I’m out the door. When I have more time I do put on gloss or lipstick with color to play up my look. This chapstick smells and taste just like cake by the way!

Covergirl Easy Breezy Brow Shape&Define

I’m new to the brow game. I have tried pencil before and it’s alright, I didn’t like how unnatural it looked on me. Again I am new to brows so I do need some practice but I really like how easy this gel is! I just brush the spoolie through my brows ad it looks so neat and natural.

Maybelline FitMe Concealer in Cafe

Hands down my favorite concealer! I’m at in desperate need to take a trip to Ulta to discover new products but so far all the other drugstore concealers I tried wasn’t a hit. This one, lady a while and it goes on so smooth. It has great buildable coverage.

Kajal Vasanti Waterline Eyeliner in Intense Black

This was a pick from a past ipsy bag! I tend to get a lot of eyeliners son like to switch up the one I use to get rid of them. This one works pretty well and it is easy to draw a wing, which is what I do!

I don’t use it in my waterline, I don’t use any eyeliner in my waterline but the pencil is small enough for you to do so.

Mikasa Beauty E220 Brush

I love this concealer brush! I made a post before that I am an affiliate with Mikasa Beauty and for good reasons! The brushes I purchased from them are incredible to me and I never used a concealer brush that blends this great for me!

L.A.B2 Just Blending in Brush

One of my favorite blending brushes. It blended so well and yes I got this in an ipsy bag! I like to use this one because I can do a couple sweeps over my eyelid and the color is blended in and I’m ready to leave. And tada! My everyday makeup just for you guys! Thanks for reading. Xx

Crockpot Apple Butter Recipe

It’s recipe time!

My husband and I took a trip to see some of our family, it wasn’t a planned trip- and it wasn’t for a good reason either. But, with all of us together, we made the best of it!

We ended up going to a local apple orchid and picked delicious fresh apples! It was so much fun. We made apple pies, apple crips, and apple butter!

  • 8 of your favorite apples (we used honey crisp and B15)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 tsp allspice, ground
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 nutmeg, ground
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  1. First, I washed and peeled all of the apples. Then I roughly chopped them into medium sized pieces.
  2. Mix together all listed ingredients at the bottom of your crockpot.
  3. Add in your chopped apples!
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. After the 8 hours, I purred the apple mixture to get rid of all the slices.
  6. Let the butter sit in the crockpot without the top for 30 minutes.
  7. Enjoy! This recipe last for 2 weeks in the fridge.

The Blogger Tag!

Personally, I love doing tags because it gives your readers a chance to get to know you better. When someone does a tag it brings out their personality, and you have a little moment where you and the blogger can talk about the interest you both share.

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

My hair is naturally curly. I straighten my hair sometimes but then I always end up missing m curly hair so it doesn’t last long.

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I do both, the last few times, I’ve died my hair at home but I prefer going to a salon! I love when other people have to deal with my hair haha.

3. Do you have the same style every day or do you change it up?

Because I work, I usually wear it up in either a bun or ponytail. When I am off I am either too lazy to do it so it stays in a bun, or I wear it down.

4. Do you do your own medi/pedis or do you go to a salon

I do my own but I prefer to go to the salon. just like my hair, i am all for someone else doing it haha!

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

Probably once every two weeks. It does chip way before then, but again I’m sort of lazy… haha. Plus, I just like going to the salon. I love the relaxing feeling of it all.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?

I do it in the winter as well, because I do go around the house in my bare feet, I don’t want to look at just plain nails ugh!

7. How long does it take to put on your makeup?

Around 5 minutes. For a normal day at work, I use concealer, eyeliner, and mascara and I’m out. But for a ‘glam’ day it takes around 10 minutes haha.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Face first! I don’t know, it sort of sets me off when someone does eyes first, is that weird haha!

9. Do you collect makeup? Or do you just buy what you need when you need it?

…I don’t ‘need’ any of it haha! I grew up with my momma always saying I don’t need to wear makeup so I just now jumped in on the makeup boat. I tend o buy what I need when I need it but I do have those times that I can’t pass up something and I have to have it.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

never, but I want to! I love the look of them, they make you look so dramatic I love it.

11. Do you do a full face or makeup every day?

12. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone or with family?

No, unless I had it on before.

13. Do you leave the house without makeup?

Yes! Well, it depends on where I am going. If I’m going out the dinner, no. If I’m going grocery shopping and the whole nine yards, no. If I;m just swinging by to get gas or pick up something quick, yes,

14. How many high-end products do you have?

Not many, I am in the process of moving so I am actually giving away a lot of stuff to friends, some of being high-end products I don’t use. I am the drugstore makeup girl. I always go down the beauty isles and see what is new.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night? Or you decide as you get ready?

I plan it the night before. I make sure EVERYTHING is set up right and looks good, I like to get allll the sleeps I can get haha!

16. How often do you change your handbag?

This one is tough because I don’t know exactly. I would say every couple of months I would switch it up. I like to clean out my purse every week if I remember to. And then I would say hey I want to switch back to this or that. I love purses though, my husband has to stop me from buying them.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

On workdays, I wake up at 4am, and I am in bed by 8:30pm no later than 9pm. Well, now that I m working a different shift I will be able to wake up at 7am and be in bed no later than 10pm! On my days off it depends on what I have to do but I stay in bed a while. Like I love to sleep so I am in bd a long while haha.

18. How often or when do you workout?

I like to workout every week. Twice a week if I can. I love to do Yoga and I have a new workout I m trying with those resistant bands. Girl, your butt will thank me because those bands really help you with squats if you are bad at them like me. Hmmm, sounds like a new blog post in the making!

19. Left handed or right handed?

20. How tall are you?

21. Do you speak any foreign language?

I can speak a little bit of Spanish and Japanese. Not enough to be fluent in them though! I love the Japenese language and culture so one day I do want to be fluent.

I have to dogs! Sierra and Nyla

Everyday. Even if I’m not blogging, I’m reading other blog posts!

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

Yep! I love commenting and reading comments on blog post that I like.

25. Do you keep a list of products you want to try when you see other post?

I do. I have a whole Google Drive document open with different things I want.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?

Well, my hubby is in the Airforce and we are high school sweethearts. So that is how it came about haha.

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photos?

I use the Nikon Coolpix L840. I really love it because it is simple to use and it is a plum color! I take it everywhere. I also use my iPhone 7 for quick snaps.

28. How often do you clean your house?

Every day I do minimal cleaning and every week I do a deep clean of everything and change all the wax in my Scentsy warmers and light up my candles. It is sooo relaxing having a freshly cleaned and vacuumed house with all the laundry going (not folded yet, like it never gets folded honestly) and then I have a nice clear desk for blogging and bible journaling.

29. What’s your favorite color?

30. Do you swear?

Rarely. I don;t like to but sometimes it can slip out.

31. What are you doing the rest of your day?

I am catching up on late blog post I should have written by now, and I am doing some cleaning and making dinner! Plus I am working on some things for schoo.=l. I will b spending most of my day at my desk.

Well, there it is guys! Thanks for reading and learning a little bit about me. I really feel like when I do little tags and questionnaires about my self I learn more that I never realized,. I see how I have changed over time to who I am now. I don’t know, I can just see it haha! Thanks for reading!

GNC Pro Box Unboxing!

Surprise box! I forgot all about my GNC box coming again! I checked the mail and BOOM I see a cute red box ready for me to open up. If you don’t know, GNC has a subscription box where they send you various health and wellness items for you to try! I loved my first one, and I am excited to try out my goodies in the second one.

Enyotics Health Focus Fast

It says that it is supposed to jumpstart your morning to make you more focused. It is a blend of vitamins, herbs, and botanicals. So, it should be safe. I really need to focus when it comes to school so I will be trying out these supplements!

Sunwarior Warrior Blend

This is a plant-based protein WITHOUT dairy! I am so happy about this! I want to try this after a good workout. That is my favorite time to drink protein shakes mmm.

  • Soy free
  • No sugar added
  • Gluten free
  • Dairy free
  • Vegan

This shake is packed with amino acids and the good thing about this is, you don’t have to blend this to drink it. You can just shake it up! That is one of the reasons why I am getting rid of all my Shakeology. I don’t have time to blend my shakes, clean the blender out before it gets that gross smell and yeah.

GNC B-12

I am on the fence on trying this simply because I don’t know much about B-12. Its description says that it is essential for energy production and carbohydrate metabolism, which I think I need. I don’t know just yet, I may be passing this one on to my husband.

Enlightened Crispy Marshmellow Treats

Mmmm I can’t wait to snack on this! I am like thinking what the heck about the flavor bein apple cinnamon but I mean I’m sure the original will be good if I don’t enjoy this one. It has 15g of protein! and I am hoping this curves my appitite for sweets and such. It is a decent sized bar for crying out loud haha!

OJO Quickly Dissolving Eye Care Crystals

I wear glasses and contacts so yes my eyes are not all that great. I am excited to try this little packet of nutrients to help them out! I’m sure that I will have to take this repeatedly to see results but I never heard f such a product it is so neat!

Resvitale Collagen Renew

This formula helps maintain skin elasticity and reduces the look of wrinkles. I think my skin is pretty good right now, I mean I know my mom would probably want to try this out so I think I may pass this on to her. I love using a face mask for my skin instead!

And then at the wee bottom of my box, I got a couple of coupons! Overall, I pretty much liked this box! I am not going to be using every sample in it but hey I did get some pretty good stuff and I am not disappointed. Thanks for reading! And if you love GNC or you love health and wellness, check out the GNC box.

I am like a little too obsessed with subscription boxes. I will admit this. THAT IS THE FIRST STEP. Haha okay, thanks, guys I’ll catch you next time.

The Jesus Box by Annabeth Cherie {15% off Code!}

Hi friends!

If you don’t know, I love my Christian related things. I have my Holy Bible and my Prayer Notebook in my hands just about every day. Somehow, I stumbled upon this awesome subscription box on the ‘Gram and I knew I just had to subscribe!

Growing up, my mom was always religious. I loved going to church and seeing my Pastor, Shirley Caeser singing and dancing on stage. Yes, MY Pastor was THE Shirley Caeser! But as time went on and I moved out, got married and started doing adult things, I haven’t been going to church and honestly, it is hard to join a new one when you were so attached to a different one ya know?

Anywho, I really feel like this box sort of got me more in touch with Jesus and my religion! I loved everything that came to me and I can;t wait to see what I get next!

Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst

I started reading this book already and I am liking it so far. It is hard to put down. I really like the cover and the feel of this book too. It will be a pretty short read for me but I already have a couple quotes that stuck to me.

“Honesty wanted me to bring the core of who I believe I am and hold it up to the light of what’s really true.”

This book is worth reading, and I think it is the highlight of this months box!

Magnetic Bookmarks

HOW CUTE! I love love love these little bookmarks! I never invest in buying bookmarks, I use anything else available to me, haha but I am loving these. I love the scripture written out on both, it is a little reminder to you to have hope and trust.

SavedByGraceCO Chapstick

This is an all natural ingredient lip balm or chapstick if you want to call it. It smells like no other I have ever smelled! I have the lavender scented one and it is super moisturizing and the packaging is so cute. I have heard of SavedByGraceCo before, I know that they have t-shirts, mugs, and home decor for sale. check her out here

Jesus Freak Bracelet

All I can say is this is an adorable addition to my jewelry collection. I say ‘cute’ and ‘adorable’ a lot don’t I? I already had others complement it and ask what does it say! It is nice to share my faith with others and the bracelet is really good quality. It has a sort of distressed look to it and I like the color red that it is.

The second I saw Annabeth’s box, I knew I wanted it! I recommend this as a gift for yourself or for someone else! You can subscribe to monthly subscriptions or just a one-time payment. She is so sweet and was kind enough to give me a discount code to share with you all!

You can use code RAE15 for 15% off for a subscription, or RAE10 for 10% off a one-time purchase! Check her out! You can order through her website here.

Mikasa Beauty Makeup Brush Review { Plus 25% off code!}

I think I’m going places.

I was reached out to by Mikasa Beauty to purchase (with my own money) why of their products to review! Of course, I didn’t have to but, I’m not the one to really sludge on makeup brushes I mean, I’ve been using cheap brushes from Amazon for a while.

So, to start off I’ll say that this is going to be my true honest opinion on Mikasa Beauty and their brushes.

Again I am cheap lol so I purchased a couple brushes that I didn’t really have in my ‘collection’ and the rest I would get if I enjoyed them. I got the 4 Piece Face Essentials Kit which includes:

  • F100 Powder Brush
  • F200 Duo Fibre Finishing Brush
  • F111 Blush Brush
  • E220 Concealer Brush
  • Lemon Drop Blender Sponge

A+ on the packaging. I love the simple, sleek look. The E220 Concealer Brush is my favorite so far. I have a stubborn dark spot on my cheek from a pimple a while back that I wrongly picked at. Sometimes I have NO self-control…

But, this brush blends my concealer perfectly. Even and smooth coverage! I use Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade 30, by the way. It is also good for under the eyes and defining the brows.

I never felt a brush so smooth on my face before! Like, they glide on so easily and my makeup was so… rich? I don’t know it was just amazing. I am just now getting into high-end makeup because I always felt I could get the same for cheaper. That’s not always the case. And it applies to brushes too. For me, the quality of Mikasa Beauty really is great. I will say that you get a little bit of shedding from the F100 Powder Brush but, it’s not a ton. It’s not so much that you will have fall out interfering with your makeup. This brush though is so fluffy! (Despicable Me anyone?) Don’t even get me started on the F111 Blush Brush. I love using highlighters and a little bit of blush on my cheeks. The F111 adds just the right amount of product and the right amount of blend.

I have had a lot of fun trying out these brushes, including the cute little Lemon Drop sponge that made me ditch my drugstore one. My face has been so happy lol! I love the natural look and I can really get that using Mikasa Beauty brushes. I recommend them!

So what are your favorite makeup brush brand?  If you don’t have one or, you want to try out Mikasa Beauty, I have a coupon code for 25% off your entire purchase! RENAEJ25
