Winter nails // blogmas day 8

Yesterday, I decided to paint my nails! I didn’t have a solid does of what I wanted to actually do, but I knee I wanted something with sparkle.

Yes ignore my horrible painting skills, it’s been a while since I’ve done it myself.

For the base, I used a rich blue color by SinfulColors in the shade Midnight. I did two coats of that and the layered a glittery nail color called Ice Queen by Sally Hansen on my ring fingers only. I allowed jrto dry and I thought hey this isn’t enough sparkle! So I dabbed a spot of glitter to each nail to look as if I had a diamond on them, like you see in Pinterest lol. I used a clear glitter from LA Colors.

Then, to top it all of I used a clear polish from Claires to protect my nails from chipping.

I like how it turned out! I mean, if I didn’t rush it I might not have got polish all over my fingers haha!

Winter Skincare Routine // blogmas day 7

The winter months make my skin so dry and I am more prone to breakouts for some reason.

I only use a handful of products that keep my skin looking healthy and clear!

First, I have to say one of my favorite skin care brands is Yesto. I’m in love with the entire line of facial wipes, each ingredient focuses on a different aspect of skin problems.

Say Yesto Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes

What’s really cool to me about this particular wipe is the fact that is says detoxifying. I can sometimes feel the oil on my skin and I need to have some deep cleaning to get rid of it.Getting rid of makeup is really easy with these wipes too. Plus I think it’s super awesome that the cloth is black hehe.I usually end my day by using these wipes to remove all of my makeup. Depending on how my skin is reacting that day. If I have visible breakouts or my face feels extra oily, I reach for these.

Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Cleansing Pads

You can tell I enjoy wipes and pads more than actual cleansers. I don’t know, I just don’t like to get my hair wet some days and it’s super quick to just swipe swipe swipe across my face and be done!

That doesn’t mean I ruled out cleansers all together though. But Aveeno is another brand I can trust. I never breakout or get a bad reaction form any of their products. My skin is highly sensitive and I have eczema, very bad eczema during the winter months but I can always count on Aveeno!

I use these pads at night, again if my skin seems to be doing just fine and I just need to remove a bit of makeup and clear my skin of dirt. I love the smell of these and they actually last me a good while. I think they have about 30 pads? It’s worth the money!

Aveeno Positively Radiant Sheer Daily Moisturizer

In the morning before I apply my makeup I always Star out with moisturizer. Winter can make the skin so dry but this product give you a nice dewy look!

I’m interested in what your skincare favs are, let me know!

My Christmas wishlist // Blogmas day 5

This year, I don’t want a lot for Christmas. I just have a few things that has been on my list for a couple months-years!

These are things I have been hinting to my husband to get me, so I hope he is reading this!

Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette

I’m in love with this pallet. I’ve heard so many great reviews on it, and if my favorite YouTuber Emily Noel says it’s good. Then it’s good.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume

The smell of this and Daisy Dream is spectacular. I can’t explain the smell, but I can write their description of it for you.Bright, flirtatious, free-spirited. Enter the world of Daisy, a fresh, feminine fragrance with playful innocence. Always elegant and enchanting but never too serious, Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet wrapped in warmth and comfort.

  • Violet leaves, wild strawberries
  • Violet petals, jasmine bouquet
  • Musk, vanilla infusion

The Clarisonic

I’m all about skincare and I’m really intrigued to try the Clarisonic!

KitchenAid Mixer in white or mint

Since I have beck for more interested in baking, I had my eye on this mixer. I want to be able to bake fresh bread and other treats with it!

Funko Pops

Anyone else collecting pops? I have a few! I want to do a tour of them once I get a couple more added.

Vans Classic Knit Suede Slip-on in black

Vans are one of my favorite brand of shoes. I especially love slips on for easy on the go comfort!

I have to write things down in order to remember them. I get a new planner every year so I hope to get one at Christmas!

What’s on your list this year? Do we have sine of the same things? Let me know!

Winter Tag 2017 // BLOGmas Day 1

It’s December! I love watching Vlogmas videos on YouTube because it gets me so ready for Christmas. This year, I am going to attempt to blog everyday for 25 days! I will center it around the holidays, hopefully I can add a giveaway too!

I am in a group called BossGirlBloggers on Facebook that connects other bloggers together for collaborations, advice, etc. the created I the group put together a super fun tag I knew I wanted to be apart of!

You can check out her answers here.

1. What if your favorite holiday tradition?

Growing up, just about every Christmas Eve my sister and I would watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday movie! But it has to be the Jim Carrey version because he makes the movie hilarious.

2. What is your favorite go-to lippies?

Im still in search of a good red lip. I just don’t know what brand really earns that title for yet but I did find some other colors that I love for this time of the year.

Lipsense and I have a love-hate relationship. I love it because it stays on allll day and I hate it because it’s expense lol. I mean, the gloss is $25! But it really does have amazing staying power. The shade is GlamDoll which is a mauve-y brown-y plum-y shade. So pretty I love it. Then I have NYX Butter Gloss in Gingersnap which is a dark brown gloss. NYX has the best glosses, I want like every color.

Left: NYX Right: LipSense

3. What is your favorite winter scent? (Candles, perfume, etc.)

Perfume wise, I love my trip from B&BW. Winter Candy Apple, Vanilla Bean Noel, and Twisted Peppermint! Twisted Peppermint gives me a cotton candy vibe. I switch between these tree during the holidays and I spray generous amounts lol.

For ‘candles’ I love my Christmas Spirit essential oil from YoungLiving. I add a couple drops to my diffuser for a calming citrus scent.

I’m like so into oils right now I have Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lemon, and Orange right now. I’m seriously considering purchasing their entire starter kit thing!

4. What’s your go-to winter fashion trend?

Scarves and boots. Always. I have a pair of really adorable black heeled boots I am dying to wear! Ugh and don’t get me started on scarves I wear a different one everyday. If I get scarves for Christmas I would totally be okay with that.

Boots Scarf

5. What is your all time favorite holiday movie?

I already mentioned it! But to add another on the list, it would have to be Elf. I love comedy holiday movies if you haven’t noticed.

6. What is your all time favorite holiday Tune?

All I want for Christmas is youuuuuuu baby! Mariah Carey of course!

7. Do you prefer to travel or stay home for the holidays?

I prefer to stay home. I like to enjoy the holidays in a cozy environment and I don’t know for some reason traveling is stressful for me.

8. What is your favorite winter skin care must have?

I have eczema, so I religiously use Aveeno products. One of my faves for the face is the Positively Radiant Sheer Daily Moisturizer. I love the feeling it gives my face. And when the cold air hits it doesn’t feel dry and cracked.

9. What is your favorite winter hair care products?

I finally got around to trying DevaCurl! I am amazed by their products. My hair lasted for 5 days without washing. It is super moisturizing and defining to my curls which is perfect for winter. I use the Deva Curl Ultra Defining Gel Define and Control and the DevaCurl Styling Cream Touchable Curl Definer. These are travel sized but believe me I am buying the full sized ones from Ulta very soon.

Other staples would be my OGX Coconut Curls Conditioner and the Garnier Fructis Whole Blends Monoi Oil & Orange Blossom Shampoo. Both are amazing!

10. What is your favorite winter activity?

I love baking cookies for santa every year! Sugar cookies with egg nog mmm the perfect combo. I also love playing with the snow. Fun fact I never ever built a snow man. I’m hoping this year I will be able to.

11. What is your go-to favorite winter beauty product?

Glitter shadow! You can’t go wrong with a nice shimmery shade during the holidays. Or even for New Years. I love to jazz up my look during these months because everyone is so festive and I am constantly going to different events.

I have this shadow from an ipsy bag and I have yet to use it. I was going through my collection and I was like hey that is a really good shadow!

12. Do you love to hate the snow?

Growing up I wished for snow every winter. Now that I live in Montana, I dont ave to wish. When it snows here, I’m excited but not when I have to drive anywhere. I will get really bad anxiety.

13. What is one item on you wish list this year?

I really want the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume. I ask for it every year for about 3 years now. It’s such a beautiful floral scent I just can’t describe it but it’s me. It’s so me.

14. What is your favorite holiday treat?

Cookies! I love sugar cookies! And I also loved Peppermint infused treats as well lol.

15. Do you finish you shopping before December or are you a late shopper?

I start shopping Black Friday and continue all the way until Christmas Eve. I tend to find things I love and put them up. Then, I get them all out and decide “Okay, who is getting what this year?”

Now it’s your turn because I tag all of you!

Current Go-to Makeup Look (What’s In My Makeup Bag)

It’s been a long while since I sat down and wrote a blog post. Life has been crazy, too crazy to handle but, I’m back! Lately I have been reaching for a few specific products every morning. I like to add all of those products to cut down time on the morning (so I can enjoy my coffee) to a makeup bag and sit it on my bathroom countertop! This bag is from my mom-in-law! It’s so cute!

HardCandy Sheer Envy Dark Spot Correcting Primer

I am loving this primer right now because it’s makes my face feels so soft. As far as the dark spot correcting I do see a little bit that my concealer sort of sticks to my face a bit better. I have this ONE acne scar on my cheek that I can’t get rid of! Ugh!

Maybelline TheFalsies Push-up Angel Mascara

This mascara is really popular right now. I’ve seen a lot of other bloggers talk about it and for good reasons! It makes my lashes look so long a full, it’s my go-to and I’ll repurchase it over and over.

Chapstick in Cake Batter

I’m really simple. So I usually just put on a sweet chapstick and I’m out the door. When I have more time I do put on gloss or lipstick with color to play up my look. This chapstick smells and taste just like cake by the way!

Covergirl Easy Breezy Brow Shape&Define

I’m new to the brow game. I have tried pencil before and it’s alright, I didn’t like how unnatural it looked on me. Again I am new to brows so I do need some practice but I really like how easy this gel is! I just brush the spoolie through my brows ad it looks so neat and natural.

Maybelline FitMe Concealer in Cafe

Hands down my favorite concealer! I’m at in desperate need to take a trip to Ulta to discover new products but so far all the other drugstore concealers I tried wasn’t a hit. This one, lady a while and it goes on so smooth. It has great buildable coverage.

Kajal Vasanti Waterline Eyeliner in Intense Black

This was a pick from a past ipsy bag! I tend to get a lot of eyeliners son like to switch up the one I use to get rid of them. This one works pretty well and it is easy to draw a wing, which is what I do!

I don’t use it in my waterline, I don’t use any eyeliner in my waterline but the pencil is small enough for you to do so.

Mikasa Beauty E220 Brush

I love this concealer brush! I made a post before that I am an affiliate with Mikasa Beauty and for good reasons! The brushes I purchased from them are incredible to me and I never used a concealer brush that blends this great for me!

L.A.B2 Just Blending in Brush

One of my favorite blending brushes. It blended so well and yes I got this in an ipsy bag! I like to use this one because I can do a couple sweeps over my eyelid and the color is blended in and I’m ready to leave. And tada! My everyday makeup just for you guys! Thanks for reading. Xx

Mikasa Beauty Makeup Brush Review { Plus 25% off code!}

I think I’m going places.

I was reached out to by Mikasa Beauty to purchase (with my own money) why of their products to review! Of course, I didn’t have to but, I’m not the one to really sludge on makeup brushes I mean, I’ve been using cheap brushes from Amazon for a while.

So, to start off I’ll say that this is going to be my true honest opinion on Mikasa Beauty and their brushes.

Again I am cheap lol so I purchased a couple brushes that I didn’t really have in my ‘collection’ and the rest I would get if I enjoyed them. I got the 4 Piece Face Essentials Kit which includes:

  • F100 Powder Brush
  • F200 Duo Fibre Finishing Brush
  • F111 Blush Brush
  • E220 Concealer Brush
  • Lemon Drop Blender Sponge

A+ on the packaging. I love the simple, sleek look. The E220 Concealer Brush is my favorite so far. I have a stubborn dark spot on my cheek from a pimple a while back that I wrongly picked at. Sometimes I have NO self-control…

But, this brush blends my concealer perfectly. Even and smooth coverage! I use Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade 30, by the way. It is also good for under the eyes and defining the brows.

I never felt a brush so smooth on my face before! Like, they glide on so easily and my makeup was so… rich? I don’t know it was just amazing. I am just now getting into high-end makeup because I always felt I could get the same for cheaper. That’s not always the case. And it applies to brushes too. For me, the quality of Mikasa Beauty really is great. I will say that you get a little bit of shedding from the F100 Powder Brush but, it’s not a ton. It’s not so much that you will have fall out interfering with your makeup. This brush though is so fluffy! (Despicable Me anyone?) Don’t even get me started on the F111 Blush Brush. I love using highlighters and a little bit of blush on my cheeks. The F111 adds just the right amount of product and the right amount of blend.

I have had a lot of fun trying out these brushes, including the cute little Lemon Drop sponge that made me ditch my drugstore one. My face has been so happy lol! I love the natural look and I can really get that using Mikasa Beauty brushes. I recommend them!

So what are your favorite makeup brush brand?  If you don’t have one or, you want to try out Mikasa Beauty, I have a coupon code for 25% off your entire purchase! RENAEJ25

September Ipsy Bag

Better late than never, right?

Okay here is another Ipsy bag review for you! Seriously, if you are not subbed yet, you should! I get to try different types and brands of makeup I never knew of or got to try before. For only $10 a month! Plus, you get a cute makeup bag to go with it lol.

So this months theme was Boss Babe and it was a realllly cute black leather studded bag! I used it as an on-the-go makeup bag for my purse. (Would you like a blog post of what’s in it? Let me know!)

But, what I am really over the moon with is I received a ColourPop product. Yes, hold the phone. I have been wanting to try ColourPop forever but I didn’t know what to get first. Their lip products (from what Insta tells me) are AMAZING!

Adesse Organic Infused Nail Lacquer

I got yet another nail polish color, but I’m not mad about it. The color is a very pretty grey (perfect for fall) that is a lot similar to the other grey I received in a previous ipsy bag. You don’t need to do too many coats for the color to show!

Manefit Beauty Planner Mask

I have been obsessed with face mask recently! And I was=nted to try the Korean brand ones for a while. I was super stoked to see TWO of them in my bag! My face felt so soft and it was glowing, if you haven’t tried a face mask yet, do so!

ColourPop Lippie Stix

Eeek! ColourPop! I already boosted about my thoughts of ColourPop above but yes, I love this Lippie Stick. I mean, the color is right for me, it’s too bright for my liking but it goes on soooo smooth. oh my gosh. I’m ordering the same formula but in a different color.

I don’t know what the sahde is, if you are a ColourPop fanatic you are going to hate me lol. But I can’t find the name of it!

Beauty For Real Eyeliner in Jade

Now we have a stunning jewel-toned green eyeliner I am in love with. It makes my eyes look brighter and I look a little more refreshed after applying it! I always loved wearing green makeup with my skin tone, I think it complements it very well. This liner is so smooth and I have it in the shade 24K Gold too. No need to use a wing with this one, just line your upper lash liner and you can use a blending brush to blend it out and tada!

LUXIE 207 Medium Angled Shading Brush

Speaking of shading, I now a perfect angled shading brush in my collecition! I’m like, amazed at how it can transform my looks witht he ability to smoke out the browns and purples I use. Yes, I started venturing out with fall colors!

I can make a Fall Makeup Look blog post for you guys in the future!

Alright, so my bag was some kind of awesome last month. I’m so ready for my October bag! What did you girlies and guys get? Let me know!
