My Morning Coffee Winter Edition // BLOGmas Day 2

If I don’t have coffee in the morning, I just feel out of place. Even in the winter, I can still drink iced coffee. It can be 30 below and I will have an iced coffee.

I love using my travel mug from Walmart, that says “Eat, pray, slay.” It’s so me haha!

So I put together a couple of my favorite coffee blends I do in the morning before work! (or the night before)

Peppermint White Chocolate (iced or hot)

  • I brew one cup on my favorite coffee, which is Donut Shop Regular mmmm so good!

  • Then, I add me delicious Bailey’s White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Creamer! This creamer is new to me this year, I usual get the Peppermint Mocha from CoffeeMate but I spotted this and wanted to try it. Now I might just buy a couple more to last me the whole winter!
  • After that, you can drink it right away or add a little bit of One Touch Latte Creamer. Seriously, it’s worth a try. I bought it because I had a rebate from my iBotta app (that is worth it too) That is if I am drinking it hot. If I’m drinking it cold, I set my coffee in the fridge overnight and when I am ready to head to work in the morning I add the creamer then.

Caramel Vanilla Swirl (iced or hot)

This is best when cold!

  • Again, I brew my favorite coffee, and then I add 3 pumps of Starbucks caramel syrup I purchased from Walmart for under $6! I can see this as a good gift.

  • I then mix in my Vanilla Almond Milk Creamer. I am lactose intolerant, and I find this Creamer to be very easy on my stomach. If I do use my other creamers, I take my medication.
  • Again, you can have it sit overnight and add your ice cubes or you can drink it hot. I love this cold it’s so refreshing to me.

I add so much Creamer to my coffee it looks a socially like coffee flavored cream lol! But, I hope you enjoy these recipes! I really would love to hear your holiday coffee drinks. I am always ready to try new coffees!

Date Night Meal Idea // Penne With Italian Sasuage

Whoop whoop! It’s date night!

Our town, as I mentioned before doesn’t have a huge selection of chain restaurants. So when we want to be fancy, it always Applebee’s.

Deciding to eat it seems to become more and more of a routine.

Tonight, I am making Penne pasta with Italian sausage! It is so yummy. I usually don’t go for the ground sausage, but I wanted to try something new.

I use the amazing sauce from Sam’s Club that I’m sort of obsessed with. You have to try it, okay?

You can spice up this meal with a side salad or garlic bread!

The sauce stickies right to the pasta and it is so rich with flavor! And I love the spice of the sausage as well. Mmm, perfect combo!

Ingredients

Garlic Bread or Side Salad optional

Penne Rigate pasta

Meat of your choice, we used ground Italian sausage

Pasta sauce of your choice, we used Member’s Mark Romano Pasta sauce

1. First, you are going to want to start to brown your sausage whole you are boiling the penne.

2. Depending if you are making garlicbreqs with it, you will want to preheat the oven at this time.

3. After the sausage is fully cooked, gldrsjn grease and set aside.

4. When the penne has reached the texture you want it to be, drain the excess water. Remove from heat and stir in the sausage.

5. Slowly stir in the sauce with the penne and sausage until it it evenly mixed.

You are done! You can pair your pasta with a nice glass of wine. Or in this case since i’m not 21… Welche’s grape juice!

Don’t judge me lol! Mmm, its so good I even don’t mind eating leftovers. And I hate leftovers. This is a super easy recipe bit it makes for a great romantic meal.

Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Happy Friendsgiving!

So, being a military wife means you miss out on holidays with family and you celebrate with the next best. Friends! Since the majority of our group was posted for Thanksgiving, we decided to celebrate a few days later. It’s never too late for turkey!

This is me, I was really proud that my hair actually stayed flat for a bun and my shirt was only $3 from Walmart! Okay, back to pie xx

Growing up, my mom and my older sister would make amazing pumpkin qns sweet potatoe pies. I would always make deviled eggs with my dad. This year, I wanted to recreate their pies to share with all of my friends!

Now I didn’t go all out and use real pumpkin, I used canned but you know it is still homamdebthat way!

Ingredients

1 can of Pumpkin Puree

2 Cup of milk

4 eggs

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1 1/2 Cups of sugar

7oz of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed milk

2 pie crust (I used Pillsbury brand)

Yes! This is the ‘secret ingredient’ my mom would add. It makes the pies a little bit sweeter and thicker. It does take the pies a little but longer to cook by adding it but not is worth it. Only half the can should do.

1. Preheat the oven to 450. Mix together the eggs and spices in a bowl.

2. Add the pumpkin and the rest of the wet ingredients

3. Mix until everything is thoroughly blended and divide the mixture between two pie crust.

4. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes then lower temperature to 350 for 45 minutes. The pies are done once you stick a fork in and it come sour clean.

My pies needed an extra 10 minutes before they were complete!

Tada! Now you have two delicious pumpkin pies to eat! The first didn’t come out the way I wanted… But hey it was my first try. I’m so in love with cooking and baking dessert right now, I think I found a new hobby lol!

Crockpot Apple Butter Recipe

It’s recipe time!

My husband and I took a trip to see some of our family, it wasn’t a planned trip- and it wasn’t for a good reason either. But, with all of us together, we made the best of it!

We ended up going to a local apple orchid and picked delicious fresh apples! It was so much fun. We made apple pies, apple crips, and apple butter!

Ingredients

  • 8 of your favorite apples (we used honey crisp and B15)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 tsp allspice, ground
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 nutmeg, ground
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

Directions

  1. First, I washed and peeled all of the apples. Then I roughly chopped them into medium sized pieces.
  2. Mix together all listed ingredients at the bottom of your crockpot.
  3. Add in your chopped apples!
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. After the 8 hours, I purred the apple mixture to get rid of all the slices.
  6. Let the butter sit in the crockpot without the top for 30 minutes.
  7. Enjoy! This recipe last for 2 weeks in the fridge.

Cinnamon Roll Protein Shake // Recipe

I LOVE my protein shakes in the morning. I don’t just like to drink them plain, I recently started researching and experimenting with adding other ingredients!

Pinterest is my best friend when coming up with new recipes. Not just for my shakes but for meals as well. My favorite one I have been bringing to work is Cinnamon Roll!

Ingredients 

2 scoops of Vanilla protein powder (I use GNC Lean Shake)

8oz of Almond milk (I use any milk that is lactose-free)

1 packet of stevia (optional)

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

4 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients together in a blender, then sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top for extra flavor! It is super fast and easy to make. What are your favorite shake recipes? Let me know in the comments!
